The revolution of electric vehicles is well in progress and I am convinced that the new 2023 KIA EV6 marks a revolutionary leap in the domain of electric cars. The EV6 serves as the flagship model of KIA’s electric vehicle lineup, fusing state-of-the-art technology, thrilling performance, and elegant design. With its impressive range, design, and advanced features, the EV6 GT AWD presents robust competition in the electric vehicle market. There is much to admire for electric vehicle enthusiasts and KIA aficionados alike. Let’s dissect all the aspects of this new electric vehicle and my test week with the 2023 KIA EV6 GT AWD.

The exterior color of my test vehicle was Runway Red. You can get an impression from the images provided, and it is truly an attention-grabbing color. The EV6’s exterior boasts notable design features, appearing aerodynamic while also exuding style. From sleek gloss black accents to seamlessly integrated flush door handles and all the details in between, it exudes a very modern look. Each trim is equipped with standard LED lighting, illuminating the road ahead with sophistication. Notably, the GT (e-AWD) trim stands out with exclusive Goodyear® Eagle® F1 summer tires and striking neon green calipers, adding a distinctive and unique touch to its appearance.
When I observe the exterior of the EV6, I perceive a car primed for performance. It is a splendid car, and judging from all the accolades it has garnered for 2023, it appears to be the consensus.

Interior:
The 2023 KIA EV6 offers a surprisingly spacious interior, reflecting a clear emphasis on driver-centric ergonomics and passenger comfort meticulously integrated by KIA’s design team. The cockpit strikes a balance between snugness and support, perfectly aligning with the car’s dual focus on comfort and performance. Technological advancements take center stage with the inclusion of dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays, giving the EV6 a futuristic and cutting-edge aesthetic. The GT sport front bucket seats, crafted with soft black suede and accentuated by vibrant neon green details, not only look marvelous but also create a striking visual impression, especially in low-light conditions. To top it off, the 14-speaker Meridian® premium audio system ensures an immersive auditory experience for all passengers.
Motor and Transmission:
The 2023 KIA EV6 GT AWD is driven by a robust electric drivetrain that delivers an exhilarating performance. Equipped with a dual-motor setup and the added advantage of all-wheel drive capability, it offers instantaneous torque and precise control on the road. The Permanent Magnet AC Synchronous motor generates an impressive 576 horsepower, resulting in staggering acceleration that will genuinely push you back into your seat. The EV6 GT’s performance effortlessly clears the renowned “$100 bill test,” showcasing its exceptional power. This seamless coordination between the motors and the advanced transmission ensures a ride that is not only seamless but also highly responsive. In fact, the GT can achieve a speed of 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds, emphasizing its impressive agility.
Driver Experience:
The Kia EV6 GT is the most potent production vehicle ever from Kia, boasting an impressive 576 horsepower. It can reach a speed of 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and achieves a top speed of 161 mph. This exceptional performance firmly positions it in the realm of supercars, as it has been certified by AMCI as a victor in a 0-60 mph race against the Ferrari Roma and Lamborghini Huracan Evo. The EV6 GT is meticulously engineered for peak performance, featuring a 77.4 kWh battery, a 160kW front motor, and a 270kW rear motor. It also introduces a “Drift Mode” to unlock enhanced capacity and performance. Additionally, it incorporates larger diameter disc brakes (15″ front / 14.2″ rear) with quad-piston front calipers, a stiffened chassis, quicker ratio steering, electronically controlled suspension, and an Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (e-LSD) to further elevate its agility and handling.
The vehicle’s responsive handling and precise steering further elevated my sense of control and confidence on the road. Driving the EV6 was an invigorating experience.
Operating the EV6 is truly something exceptional and at the manufacturer’s suggested retail price, it is unparalleled. In my view, KIA has hit the bullseye. If you are in the market for an electric vehicle, KIA has positioned itself as a must-consider contender in the electric vehicle market.

The car charges quickly, achieves a substantial mileage per charge, offers ample space, and is exceedingly comfortable and enjoyable to drive. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the EV6 starts at $42,600, The GT -Line AWD starts at $57,600, and my test vehicle was priced at $61,570.
