Aston Martin DB12 Debuts with Powerful 671 HP V8 Engine Upgrade

Aston Martin has unveiled the successor to the DB11, named the ‘DB12’, which includes notable enhancements in both technology and engine capabilities.

The DB12 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that offers 34% more power than the previous model, thanks to new camshafts, larger turbochargers, and an upgraded cooling system. Generating a maximum output of 671 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, this V8 engine outperforms the V12 version found in the DB11. Combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission, the GT can sprint from 0-60 mph in a mere 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 202 mph.

Although it shares the foundational structure of the DB11, the DB12 features a chassis with enhanced torsional rigidity, boasting a 7% improvement. It includes adaptive dampers and offers five drive modes: Normal, Sport, Sport+, Wet, and Individual. Additionally, the vehicle is fitted with 21-inch wheels that are 18 lbs lighter.

Aston Martin is celebrated for its stunning design, and the DB12 continues this tradition. It presents a larger front grille complemented by repositioned LED headlights and a redesigned front air dam. The front fender vents have been retained, while the rear design is reminiscent of the DB11.

The interior of the DB12 has been entirely revamped, showcasing a new dashboard, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system integrated into the center console, a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel, and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The Aston Martin DB12 is anticipated to hit the market in the third quarter of 2023, with the manufacturer yet to announce specific pricing information.
