The unveiling of the DBR22 design concept, set to debut in California at Monterey Car Week, marks the most recent addition to a series of remarkable projects impeccably managed by the in-house custom division, Q by Aston Martin, which is commemorating a decade of crafting exclusive vehicles for the most selective clients worldwide. Noteworthy one-of-a-kind creations like Aston Martin Victor, as well as limited production models like Vulcan – restricted to 24 units globally, and Vantage V600 – produced in just 14 units, serve as outstanding examples of these partnerships. It appears entirely appropriate, then, that the DBR22 design concept will serve as the blueprint for a production model for a highly exclusive group of Q by Aston Martin customers.
Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, expressed, “The construction of DBR22 heavily relies on technology, employing carbon fiber extensively and integrating 3D printing in the production of a structural element. Consequently, DBR22 exemplifies Aston Martin’s distinctive capabilities, blending top-notch design with a nimble, intelligent approach to engineering and manufacturing. In a vehicle conceived to honor the ultimate bespoke customization service, the engineering advancements ensure that the DBR22 truly possesses the dynamic drama to match its aesthetics, guaranteeing a driving experience as captivating as its appearance.”
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin Chief Creative Officer, remarked, “We have propelled our design methodologies into overdrive, pushing the boundaries of formalism and endeavoring to embody a futuristic vision in the present moment. How far could we push the surfaces, proportions, and shapes? By merging this philosophy with cutting-edge processes, technology, and materials, we have rejuvenated our racing heritage and established a new lineage. DBR22 is a passionate, purebred Aston Martin sports car brimming with speed, agility, and character, and a vehicle that we believe will serve as the inspiration for many of tomorrow’s automotive icons.”
