Last year, the unique Chiron Profilée was unveiled and Bugatti announced that it would be auctioned at the RM Sotheby’s Paris event. The hypercar has now been sold for a staggering $9.5 million, surpassing all expectations.
Initially planned to slot between the Chiron Sport and the Pur Sport, the Profilée moved into a league of its own due to all 500 Chiron units being sold out by the time of its development. With no room to extend the production, Bugatti made the decision to offer the sole prototype Chiron Profilée as a bespoke one-off creation.
Boasting a distinctive dual-tone exterior finish, the Profilée stands out with its extended rear section featuring an integrated ducktail spoiler, a defining design element. This redesigned rear section has not only enhanced downforce but also impacts the aerodynamic flow over the rear axle, complemented by its own unique set of wheels.
Despite utilizing the same 8.0-liter W16 engine, this marks the final Bugatti to be powered by this massive motor, now capable of revving to 6900 rpm. Its bespoke transmission comes with revised gear ratios, enabling it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. The increased revs also elevate its top speed to 236 mph.
