Bugatti Chiron Profilée Sold Out In $5.9 Million In An Auction

The bespoke Chiron Profilée broke cover late last year. At the time, Bugatti announced that the one-off hypercar would be sold to the highest bidder at the RM Sotheby’s Paris auction. We can confirm that it just sold for a hammer price of $9.5 million.

The Profilée was supposed to be positioned between the Chiron Sport and the Pur Sport. However, by the time car was developed, all 500 slots of the Chiron had been sold out. With no chance to extend the production run, Bugatti was left with a finished product that would’ve otherwise remained locked in some storage at the Molsheim facility. Therefore, the company decided to offer the only prototype Chiron Profilée as a bespoke one-off.

The Profilée has a unique exterior finished in a dual-tone colour scheme. It has an extended tail section with an integrated ducktail spoiler, which is also its most prominent design element. According to Bugatti, the redesigned rear section has improved downforce and affects the thermodynamic airflow over the rear axle. The car rides on a unique set of wheels as well.

While it uses the same 8.0-liter W16 engine, it is the last Bugatti to be powered by this behemoth of a motor. It now revs to 6900 rpm. The engine comes with a bespoke transmission that has revised gear ratios. This enables it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds. The extra revs enable this hypercar to reach a top speed of 236 mph.
