The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is set to be available for purchase in the latter part of this year. A recent video has emerged online showcasing the E-Ray going head to head with the Ferrari F8 Tributo and the Lamborghini Huracan Evo.
Regarding the powertrain, the Corvette E-Ray is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine. This is accompanied by an electric motor on the front axle. Together, the system generates 665 HP, with the engine alone producing 495 HP and 470 lb-ft of torque. The E-Ray can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and complete a quarter mile in a claimed time of 10.5 seconds. Additionally, the E-Ray features an all-electric mode, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 45 mph – a mode referred to as Stealth Mode by Chevrolet.
What is revealed in the video?
The video shows that in this particular race, the Corvette E-Ray outperformed the expected performance based on factory numbers. It completed the 1/4 mile in 10.4 seconds with a top speed of 129 mph. Although the hybrid model had a quicker start, the track-tuned model ultimately proved to be faster.
Furthermore, the E-Ray outpaced both of the Italian cars. The Ferrari F8 achieved a time of 10.5 seconds, while the Huracan Evo’s best time was 11.1 seconds.
Additional Features of the Corvette E-Ray
