Two Koenigsegg hypercars seized by Chinese authorities in August were recently auctioned off. Per @koenigseggjesko.registry, reports confirm the sale of both vehicles. Despite its poor condition, the Regera managed to fetch around $3.52 million.
For 2 years, this Koenigsegg Regera had been gathering dust in a warehouse under Chinese customs’ supervision. The vehicle wasn’t even connected to a trickle charger, raising concerns about potential battery issues due to its hybrid nature. Sources indicate that it was bought by second-hand car merchant Ningbo Car Club. Images depict the Regera undergoing much-needed maintenance and care at FFF Automobiles located in Beijing.
Specifically, this Regera carries the chassis number 7159. It is adorned in Horizon Blue with a central white stripe, while its interior is enveloped in Tan leather. The car sports AirCore Carbon ‘biohazard’ wheels with white brake callipers and features the “By Echo” script on the front splitter and “E = mc^2” on the driver’s side behind the door.
The Koenigsegg Regera is equipped with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is augmented by three electric motors. The total power output sums up to approximately 1500 hp and 1500 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to its ‘Direct Drive’ transmission, the car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 400 km/h (248 mph) in under 20 seconds.
