Today, it was revealed by Porsche that the global premiere of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be on August 17 at 11:00 am ET through a live broadcast.

This exclusive livestream can be watched at https://newstv.porsche.com/en/, and a full recording will be accessible on various social media platforms post the event.

For Porsche enthusiasts and car aficionados, this announcement is met with eagerness, as they have been eagerly anticipating confirmation from Stuttgart following a series of teases and rumors over the past few months.

This will signify the launch of the initial 911 RS variant for the present 992-generation setup. It will complement the existing collection of GT models, such as the GT3 and GT3 Touring models that were introduced last year.

    Anticipated Arrival

The upcoming GT3 RS promises to be an exceptional and pioneering addition, a feat that is, however, not surprising coming from the German automaker in recent times. Initially, it will adopt the latest GT3’s front suspension design inspired by the track-focused Cup series.

Porsche has emphasized that significant enhancements have been made to the aerodynamics and chassis of the RS. The latest iteration, although seen in prototype form, has been observed with an active rear wing.

The specifics regarding power output have been kept under wraps, with Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Model Line remarking:

“The new 911 GT3 RS is further refined for track usage compared to its forerunners. The highly reactive, high-revving four-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine producing approximately 500 PS has proven to be ideal for track days and club racing events. Thus, our main objectives during the development of the new 911 GT3 RS were directed towards aerodynamics and chassis enhancements.”

However, it is anticipated that the incoming RS model will exceed the power output of the current GT3. An additional 30-40 PS would align with historical trends. Speculations persist about a potential 4.2-liter engine being responsible for this advancement, but only time will reveal the truth.

We will ensure to keep you updated on all information related to the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS and eagerly await coverage of the upcoming live broadcast. Stay tuned!
