F1-Inspired McLaren Hypercar May Get An Official Debut In 2026

According to a media report, McLaren plans to launch a new Formula 1-inspired hybrid hypercar sometime around 2026, as a successor to the P1.

Citing a source who attended a dealer meeting at McLaren’s Woking HQ, the report states that the new model would be powered by an in-house developed V8 paired with a lightweight hybrid system.

The source also mentioned that the new McLaren hypercar would be based on an all-new carbon monocoque. It is said to have fixed seats similar to an F1 car for better weight distribution. Moreover, the new hybrid system is also said to be 70% lighter compared to the current technology.

The new McLaren hypercar is likely to be the replacement for the P1, and we can’t wait to know more about it. We will definitely be trying to dig up as much information as possible in the coming weeks. So stay tuned!

McLaren is also planning to enter the utility vehicle space. Reports suggest that the brand’s first SUV could debut in 2028. It would rival the likes of the Ferrari Purosangue, Lamborghini Urus and the Aston Martin DBX.
