The establishment of Hispano Suiza Automobile Factory S.A. occurred in Barcelona in 1904 by Damián Mateu, alongside the technical chief and engineer Marc Birkigt, who was also a participant in the organization. Between 1904 and 1946, Hispano Suiza manufactured more than 12,000 high-end luxury vehicles, as well as approximately 50,000 aircraft engines. Presently, the central office, technical hub, and manufacturing plant remain situated in Barcelona (Spain), embodying a spirit that mixes the honor of being a Spanish label with a robust family heritage.
In 2019, the company revealed the Hispano Suiza Carmen, its novel 100% electric hypercar, and a year later, it heightened the stakes with the Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne. The overall output has been limited to a mere 24 exclusive units. The initial Carmen Boulogne in the United States was handed over in 2022 to the collector Michael Fux, and it is this specific vehicle that Hispano Souza will transport to Monterey in a fortnight.
