Alpine has presented the most extreme version of the A110 sports vehicle. The Alpine A110 R is deemed the ultimate representation of agility and power.
Extensive utilization of carbon fiber has allowed Alpine to decrease the total mass of the A110 R to 1082 kg. That translates to 34 kgs lighter than the A110 S. The vehicle is equipped with a carbon hood, single-shell carbon fiber seats with 6-point safety belts, and even a rear clam shell constructed from lightweight carbon fiber. Also exclusive to this variant are the 18-inch carbon fiber wheels.
The A110 R runs on the same 1.8-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder motor as the A110 S. It generates 300 horsepower @ 6300 rpm and 251 lb-ft @ 2400-6000 rpm. The powerplant is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that allows the vehicle to go from 0-62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Its maximum velocity is rated at 177 mph.
Alpine has also implemented several adjustments to the framework for improved track efficiency. The vehicle has been lowered by 10 mm, and using the adaptable shock absorbers, it can be further lowered by another 10 mm. It also features firmer anti-roll bars and springs, along with other modifications.
Pushing boundaries even more, the A110 R is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slick tires. It also receives larger Brembo brake rotors and specially crafted vents for cooling them during intense use. The standard sports exhaust system additionally contributes to the driving sensation.
