Koenigsegg CC850 Is In Market Demand, More Cars Need To Be Built

The Koenigsegg CC850 was showcased last week at Pebble Beach, and it seems the multi-millionaires of this world love it.

Koenigsegg had initially planned to build 50 examples of the CC850. But, due to high demand, the hypercar maker has decided to increase the production number to 70 units.

The CC850 celebrates 20 years since their first production hypercar – the CC8S. It also marks founder Christian von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday, and that’s why they decided to produce 50 cars.

Although it’s based on the Jesko, the styling of the CC850 is heavily inspired by the CC8S. It also gets a unique interior featuring a retro-styled 3-pod instrument cluster and a central touchscreen.

The CC850 is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It develops 1185 hp on pump gas and 1385 hp on E85, while peak torque is rated at 1020 lb-ft at 4800 rpm. The car has a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1.

Another unique feature of this car is its “manualized Lightspeed transmission”. It’s essentially an automatic that can be operated as a regular manual transmission.
