Twenty years have passed since Koenigsegg introduced their inaugural hypercar into production, the CC8S. The year 2022 also marks the 50th birthday of the company’s founder Christian von Koenigsegg. To commemorate these dual milestones, Koenigsegg has unveiled a new model named the Koenigsegg CC850.
As previously mentioned, the design of this new model draws significant inspiration from the CC8S, which propelled the brand onto the global stage. It serves as a contemporary reimagination of the original, boasting a striking appearance.
The CC850 showcases a lower profile compared to the Jesko, featuring a timeless rounded aesthetic. Its headlights exhibit a triple LED light signature, while the rear end showcases triple LEDs reminiscent of the original design. The characteristic side and roofline vents, along with the wheels, pay homage to the vehicle that initiated it all.
Inside the CC850, one finds a distinctive layout. Boasting a 3-pod instrument cluster with vintage-style dials and a central touchscreen, the interior stands out. However, the most noteworthy feature within is the H-pattern shifter, equipped with a “manualized Lightspeed transmission,” complete with a clutch pedal.
Under the hood of this limited-edition hypercar lies a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, producing 1185 hp on standard pump fuel and 1385 hp on E85. Peak torque is registered at 1020 lb-ft at 4800 rpm. Weighing in at 1385 kg, the power-to-weight ratio of the vehicle stands at 1:1.
Koenigsegg plans to manufacture only 50 units of the CC850, priced at approximately €3.5 million.
