Koenigsegg Regera Seized By China Custom Sold Out For $3.52 Million

In August this year, two Koenigsegg hypercars seized by Chinese customs came up for auction. Now, according to @koenigseggjesko.registry, both cars have been sold. It is said that despite being in a rough condition, the Regera fetched around $3.52 million.

This Koenigsegg Regera had been accumulating dust for 2-years at a customs warehouse in China. The car was not even connected to a trickle charger, and being a hybrid, it might cause issues with the battery. Reports suggest that it was purchased by a used car dealer called Ningbo Car Club. Images show the Regera getting a much-needed TLC and service at FFF Automobiles in Beijing.

This particular Regera is chassis no. 7159. The car is painted in Horizon Blue and has a white stripe in the centre, while the interior is wrapped in Tan leather. It rides on the AirCore Carbon ‘biohazard’ wheels with white brake callipers and has the “By Echo” script on the front splitter and “E = mc^2” on the driver side behind the door.

The Koenigsegg Regera is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is boosted by three electric motors. The total output is around 1500 hp and 1500 lb-ft of torque. The ‘Direct Drive’ transmission allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 400 km/h (248 mph) in less than 20 seconds.
