Lamborghini has dropped the second teaser of the Aventador successor weeks ahead of its official debut. The latest video previews the LB744’s all-carbon monocoque structure, dubbed ‘monofuselage’.
The Aventador successor will be the first supercar to be fitted with a 100% carbon fiber front structure. It also includes front-impact structures made from forged carbon.
Lamborghini claims that the carbon monofuselage is 10% lighter than the Aventador chassis. The front frame is 20% lighter, while torsional stiffness has gone up by 25% compared to its predecessor.
The rear chassis is made from high-strength aluminium alloys. It features two hollow castings in the rear dome area, which integrate the rear suspension towers and powertrain suspension into a single component. This setup helps reduce weight while increasing rigidity.
The Aventador successor (codenamed: LB744) will be Lamborghini’s first High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) supercar. It is powered by an all-new 6.5-liter V12 naturally aspirated unit which produces 814 hp @ 9250 rpm and 525 lb-ft of torque at 6750 rpm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and two electric motors.
