The McLaren 720S was unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Despite its striking design, the supercar is due for a midlife enhancement in the automotive industry after five years of introduction.
The updated 720S from McLaren is anticipated to be unveiled later this year. While the exact launch date is unknown, we can offer some insights about the vehicle.
Reports suggest that the 720S will undergo a subtle upgrade, including modifications to the front splitter and the rear fascia. It is set to feature Apple CarPlay connectivity, and interestingly, McLaren is considering replacing the fold-down instrument cluster with a fixed screen similar to the Elva speedster.
Importantly, the McLaren 720S enhancement is projected to receive a performance boost. If the latest speculations are accurate, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine is expected to be tuned to 750 hp and might be matched with the same dual-clutch gearbox used in the McLaren 765LT.
Sources indicate that the updated 720S will have a brief production period of around 2 years.
