According to a recent media report, McLaren is reportedly preparing to launch a state-of-the-art hybrid hypercar inspired by Formula 1, expected to arrive around 2026 as a successor to the famed P1.
Information from an insider at a McLaren dealer meeting at the firm’s Woking headquarters suggests that this new model will feature an in-house developed V8 engine combined with a lightweight hybrid system.
The source also indicated that the forthcoming McLaren hypercar will utilize a novel carbon monocoque structure. It is expected to include fixed seats modeled after those in an F1 vehicle, enhancing weight distribution. Moreover, the innovative hybrid system is claimed to be 70% lighter than current alternatives.
