The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is presently the flagship of the 992 generation. The arrival of the 911 GT2 RS will change that soon. Porsche is all prepared to reintroduce the iconic badge, but this time with a slightly electric powertrain.
The 992-gen 911 GT2 RS’s electric technology is rumored to be designed by Porsche Motorsport for the 919 Hybrid and 963 LMDh Le Man’s racers. It will utilize a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-6 engine combined with a slightly electric system. It will probably include a gearbox-mounted electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack behind the seats.
Porsche is also working on a new turbocharger with variable-geometry for the GT2 RS. This will be used to produce electric energy during acceleration. With a total output of around 750 hp, the new 911 GT2 RS will be the most powerful street-legal Porsche.
Reports also indicate that the new GT2 RS weighs about 100 kg more than the GT3 RS. Porsche is aiming for a 0-62 mph time of 2.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 211 mph.
Similar to its predecessor, the 992-gen 911 GT2 RS will be manufactured in limited quantities. It is anticipated to be available in 2026 with a price exceeding $300,000.
