This vehicle boasts impressive and powerful figures, the brand new Mercedes-AMG C63. Consider the performance metrics: 680 metric hp (or 670 bhp), along with an astonishing 752 lb-ft of torque.
Enter a realm where a Mercedes C-Class exceeds the power of a Ferrari Enzo. Nonetheless, it is also capable of achieving an alleged 34 miles per gallon and emitting just 156 g/km of CO2 – similar to that of a Golf GTI. This is due to the shift from a powerful V8 to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the C63, coupled with an F1-inspired hybrid boost nestled beneath its aerodynamic hood. 80 percent of the petite 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine is inherited from the wild A45 S hot hatch. A fresh addition is an electric motor dedicated to turbo acceleration. Its purpose is to eradicate turbo lag and boost performance, resulting in 460 bhp from a quite diminutive engine.
This output rivals what was previously achievable with the old 6.2-liter V8… AMG alleges a 0-62mph sprint in 3.4 seconds, with the maximum speed electronically capped at 174mph. Undoubtedly rapid – however, the present BMW M3 is equally agile despite having ‘only’ 503 bhp. The verdict on this? Something suggests this is the most polarizing new performance vehicle of 2022.
