The guys at Sport Auto are back at Hockenheim and this time, they’ve brought along an EU-spec Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
In this video, Uwe Sener takes the Z06 for a hot lap around the racetrack. We get to ride along and watch the Sener hustle the car as he negotiates the tight and twisty sections.
The Corvette Z06 clearly feels at home on a racetrack. Except for a few oversteer moments, the car looks planted throughout the lap. The turn-in seems quite sharp as well.
Also, the background score is provided by the 5.5-liter V8 engine mounted in the middle. The sound it makes is quite uncharacteristic of a Corvette. It packs 636 hp and 439 lb-ft of torque, which is slightly lower than what you get in the US-spec Z06. As a result, the European version is a second slower to 60 mph.
In the end, the Corvette Z06 completes a lap of Hockenheim in 1 min 49.1 seconds.
