The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 Surpasses A Bugatti Chiron In Speed

Announcing the launch of the limited edition Challenger SRT Demon 170 as a final farewell to the powerful Challenger, Dodge has revealed exciting news.

This isn’t just any Challenger; it comes equipped with a completely overhauled 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine derived from the ‘Hellephant C170’ crate engine. Sitting atop the motor is a 3.0-liter supercharger, delivering 40% more boost than the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody.

The outcome is an astonishing 1025 horsepower at 6500 rpm and an absolutely astounding 945 lb-ft of torque. Naturally, the engine needs to run on E85 fuel to unleash its full potential. In the case of E10 fuel, the power output decreases to 900 hp and 810 lb-ft.

With this substantial power under the hood, it’s no surprise that the Challenger SRT Demon 170 dominates the quarter-mile times. In fact, it achieves 0-60 mph in just 1.66 seconds and covers a quarter-mile in 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph. Consequently, Dodge now holds the title for the fastest-accelerating production car in the world.

Dodge plans to produce 3300 units of the Challenger SRT Demon 170, with production commencing in July 2023. Although the official price stands at $96,000, reports suggest that the car is already being resold for well over that amount – upwards of $200,000!
