In a video shared by the company, CEO and Founder Mate Rimac gives us a tour of the facility where the Nevera is being built. It’s a temporary solution until Rimac campus is ready. The current facility is based in an old shopping mall. It houses everything from the paint shop to the upholstery department, powertrain and final assembly.
At the beginning of the video, Mate takes us through every stage of development, right from the design concept to the first rolling chassis, as well as the crash test mules and various homologation prototypes, including the first US-spec Nevera. According to Mate Rimac, the company will retain Nevera #000, that has just rolled off the assembly line.
The Rimac Nevera is one of the fastest electric cars ever made. It uses four electric motors with a combined output of 1914 horsepower and 1696 lb-ft of torque. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 2.4 seconds and has a Bugatti rivalling claimed top speed of 258 mph.
