Manufacturing of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has officially commenced at General Motors’ Bowling Green facility in Kentucky. The automaker unveiled this picture of the inaugural Z06 as it completed assembly.
In July of this year, Chevrolet initiated the acceptance of orders for the 2023 Corvette Z06, with production starting in September. As per sources, the initial group of vehicles left the factory on November 3, 2022.
The Z06 represents the most recent iteration in the mid-engine Corvette series. Nonetheless, the distinctions between the regular model and the Z06 run deeper than just appearances. This high-performance variant houses a 5.5-liter V8 powerplant equipped with a flat-plane crank, twin overhead cams, and dry sump lubrication. The outcome is 670 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.
The naturally-aspirated V8 engine is coupled with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that transmits power to the rear wheels. Chevrolet asserts that the new Z06 can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds and attain a maximum velocity of 195 mph.
In the United States, pricing for the Z06 commences at slightly above $106,000. For European residents, obtaining a reservation for the new ‘Vette may prove to be somewhat challenging.
