It is not uncommon for car manufacturers to acquire a competitor’s product for research and development or other purposes. Nevertheless, witnessing a Lamborghini undergoing testing at Ferrari’s exclusive test track is a highly uncommon occurrence.
Varyyx recently filmed an olive green Huracan STO completing laps at the famed Fiorano test track. The reasoning behind Ferrari engineers evaluating a rival supercar at this juncture remains ambiguous. However, due to the aggressive driving style, it appears Ferrari might be analyzing the chassis setup.
The Huracan STO represents the most extreme iteration inspired by the Huracan Super Trofeo Evo. It houses a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine generating 640 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque. Lamborghini states that the car can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in a flat 9 seconds.
The STO is a thrilling piece of machinery. Its allure is such that even Ferrari’s Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc has placed an order for one himself.
