    A McLaren Hypercar Inspired by F1 Racing May Have an Official Unveiling in 2026

     

    As per a media report, McLaren is aiming to introduce a new hybrid hypercar inspired by Formula 1 around 2026, serving as a successor to the P1.

    With reference to a source present at a dealer meeting at McLaren’s Woking HQ, the report suggests that the new model is set to be powered by an internally developed V8 combined with a lightweight hybrid system.

    The source also revealed that the new McLaren hypercar would be constructed on an entirely new carbon monocoque. It is rumored to feature fixed seats reminiscent of an F1 car to enhance weight distribution. Furthermore, the fresh hybrid system is purportedly 70% lighter compared to current technology.

    McLaren is also strategizing to enter the utility vehicle segment. Reports indicate that the brand’s inaugural SUV might make its debut in 2028. This would position it as a competitor to the Ferrari Purosangue, Lamborghini Urus, and the Aston Martin DBX.
