The grand reveal of the Ferrari 499P Le Mans Hypercar took place at the annual Finali Mondiali event held at Imola.
Prior to this, Ferrari had exhibited a disguised prototype of its Le Mans competitor. This marks the initial presentation showcasing the car in its racing outfit. The color scheme draws inspiration from the iconic Ferrari 312PB, famously driven by Jacky Ickx and other prestigious racers.
The Ferrari 499P runs on a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 powertrain. It introduces a fresh design incorporating a 120-degree bank angle. The designation ‘499’ symbolizes the cylinder displacement, while ‘P’ signifies the prototype classification.
Developed in accordance with LMH regulations, the 499P was crafted by Centro Stile. The vehicle showcases a sleek, tear-shaped cockpit with a prolonged shark fin extension merging into the rear spoiler. A distinctive feature of the rear wing is its twin-blade design complemented by a luminous bar running along the lower section.
The appearance of Ferrari’s Le Mans Hypercar exudes excitement. Nonetheless, the Peugeot 9X8 stands out as the most revolutionary design we have encountered thus far.
