An impressive lap time of 2 minutes and 19.18 seconds at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, TX was set by the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06. The driver responsible for this achievement was none other than David Donohue, a test driver for the Hennessey Venom F5.
This particular Z06 model is propelled by a mid-mounted 5.5-liter V8 engine featuring a flat-plane crank. This engine delivers a substantial 670 hp at 8400 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 6300 rpm. Additionally, it is equipped with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electronic limited-slip differential, thus channeling power to the rear axle.
