Record Lap Achieved by Mercedes-AMG GT3 Extreme Model

An adapted version of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Extreme has established a fresh lap record at the renowned Mount Panorama Circuit just ahead of the esteemed Bathurst 12 Hour competition.

The AMG GT3 Extreme was expertly piloted by Mercedes-AMG Performance driver Jules Gounon during its impressive run around the 3.85 mile track, managing an average velocity of 119 mph. The lap was completed in a time of 1 min 56.605 seconds – marking it as the quickest ever achieved by a GT vehicle.

This particular iteration of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 is an unbounded variation of the GT3 racing car. Operating without the air intake restrictor, the 6.2-liter V8 engine generates 650 hp. When coupled with a drag mitigation system, the vehicle achieved a maximum speed of 192 mph on the Conrod straight. The ‘Extreme’ model also features updated front aerodynamics, splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser.
