The recent edition of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, sponsored by Mastercard, commenced in grand fashion on Thursday. It witnessed a plethora of mind-blowing supercar unveilings, including models from Czinger, Porsche, Ferrari, Koenigsegg, and others, as well as the debut of some of the world’s most significant vehicles such as the BMW M3 Touring. Moreover, the day featured the inaugural Timed Practice for the Timed Shootout contenders, including the monstrous 2000PS Ford Electric SuperVan, Travis Pastrana, and Max Chilton navigating the McMurtry Speirling, formerly an F1 driver, amongst other noteworthy events.
Come Friday, Nigel Mansell made a triumphant return to his Ferrari F1 car, marking the official commencement of thrilling actions with every single participating vehicle tackling the hill. F1 cars, Le Mans conquerors, N24 competitors, supercars, and an array of other vehicles fiercely raced up the Hill. By Saturday, spectators witnessed the second quickest Goodwood Hill time ever, an astonishing Timed Shootout qualifying round, rally cars in full throttle, and the exhilarating driftkhana event. Saturday turned out to be a day of intense tire shredding and blazing fast races. Additionally, notable instances included Wayne Rainey performing a wheelie on his custom bike, a Le Mans champion 911 RSR aggressively burning rubber, Travis Pastrana pushing the boundaries, and Klaus Ludwig showcasing the art of drifting with vintage rally cars.
